CBD removed from the 2018 World Anti Doping Agency Prohibited List
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), has removed CBD products from the list of prohibited substances.
This is definitely a good sign for the international cannabis community and for all the patients using cannabis products for medicinal purposes.
Good News for Athletes
Many athletes are probably not aware of this yet. However, this is extremely important because it means that it is now finally possible to utilize CBD oil for recovery purposes.
Athletes use CBD to reduce pain and inflammation. It can also be used to reduce the stress an athlete can feel particularly during some big international competitions.
THC is Still Prohibited
THC still remains a prohibited substance. It is really important to check the ingredients and quality of your CBD products, before consuming them.
Some CBD oils do contain traces of THC and when used long-term this is detectable during an anti-doping test.
How CBD Works
In this way, CBD still works in synergy with the body without any legal risk.
The body produces its own natural cannabinoids and has two main receptors for cannabinoids called: CB1 and CB2.
CBD plays a key role in influencing our body’s cannabinoid production, this can result in enhanced pain management, anti-inflammatory properties, and other health bonuses.
Many athletes will be happy to know that the World Anti-Doping Agency has removed CBD from their prohibited list and that they can use CBD legally, without any risk!
